As a net operator jordgasTransport provides capacities for transportation of natural gas to its customers.
The transportation network
The transportation grid of jordgasTransport is controlled and maintained by use of the latest technology in combination with the competence and experience of the company’s employees. The capacity of NETRA pipeline can theoretically cover up to 5.5 percent of the German natural gas demand.
The NETRA pipeline runs with an overall length of 341 kilometres from the Europipe receiving facility in Dornum/Ostfriesland via Wardenburg near Oldenburg to Steinitz in Sachsen-Anhalt. From there the NETRA pipeline is connected to other transportation systems to supply the German and European gas market. The pipeline has a diameter of 1,20 metres (48 inches) and a transport capacity of 58 million cubic metres per day. The NETRA pipeline was put into operation in 1993 (from Etzel/Ostriesland to Steinitz) and in 1999 (from Dornum to Etzel).
jordgasTransport GmbH is as a transport system operator subject to the German and European gas market regulation. According to the legal obligation Statoil Deutschland Transport GmbH changed its name to jordgasTransport GmbH and is now acting as an ITO (independent transmission operator).
